Founded in 2024 in Singapore, ENERGEXON Technologies is the international rebranding and extension of PECOME.
Our mission is to revolutionize drilling fluids with innovative solutions for superior performance and sustainability.
PECOME was established in 1998 in Beijing, China, by two founders—Mr. Yao, a R&D scientist, and Mr. Li, a drilling engineer. They identified a significant challenge in drilling fluid technology in the southern edge of the Junggar Basin, China’s secondlargest basin.
This region, approximately 450 km long and 50 km wide, is rich in oil and gas structures but posed significant drilling difficulties.
From 1980 to 1997, 15 exploration wells were drilled in this area, all of which failed to reach their target due to complex drilling conditions and accidents. Issues included high pressure (up to 2.60), water-sensitive shales, narrow mud weight windows, high-angle structure, and multiple fracture zones.
Recognizing that drilling fluid technology was key to successful operations, PECOME developed a highly inhibitive and low-solids organic salt drilling fluid system— WEIGHTM System—and commenced operations in 1998.
PECOME’s vision has become clearer over time: to provide simple, environmentally friendly drilling fluid products and technologies suitable for various drilling Energexon conditions through innovation and technological advancements.
The company expanded its product line, conducted field verifications across various oilfields in China, and entered international markets by working with CNPC including Iraq and Kazakhstan, becoming a leading drilling fluid technology company in China.
Conducted the first field trial in the 85477 well in the Xinjiang oilfield’s 8th block.
Conducted further trials in the 57031 well in the Wudong District and the 5011 well in the Mobei area.
A breakthrough drilling of the X5 well, the first incident-free well to reach its target in the southern edge of the Junggar Basin in 20 years.
This X5 success, earned PECOME the third prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Xinjiang in the year 2002.
*The success of this technology led to its widespread adoption in the region, solving the long-standing drilling problems in the southern edge of the Junggar Basin.
Developed NATU, a non-toxic, environmentally friendly natural polymer drilling fluid system—for the Lungu block of the Tarim Oilfield, located in a protected area with rare wildlife.
This non-toxic, polymer drilling fluid system set several drilling records, including drilling 3,000 meters in 6 days, 4,000 meters in 9 days, and 5,000 meters in 14 days in the LG52 well.
*The LG902-1 well set a record with a single drill bit drilling 4,410 meters. The area was upgraded to a national nature reserve in 2006.
Over the past 20 years, PECOME has developed various drilling fluid systems to meet different drilling conditions. Recently, the company has focused on simplifying drilling fluid systems to create a universal drilling fluid system.
This system can adapt to a wide range of conditions, from the simplest to the most complex wells, conventional formations to water-sensitive formations, salt-gypsum layers, and shale oil and gas formations, using freshwater to high-density brine, and operating under normal to ultra-high pressure and temperature conditions.
Drilled the first incident-free well in Huabei Oilfield’s Gaojiabao structure - Jia 59 well.
Drilled the deepest well in Huabei Oilfield - Niu Dong 1 well (6,027m, bottom hole temperature 201°C).
Achieved the longest salt-gypsum layer penetration in the Tarim Basin - Keshen 208 well (salt-gypsum layer thickness: 3,026m).
Set the shortest drilling cycle for directional wells of 4,501-5,000 meters deep in the CNOOC system - WZ6-12-A8 well.
Drilled the highest temperature well in Qinghai Oilfield - Yitan 1 well (240°C, 6,500m).
Constructed the largest horizontal well platform in China - Changqing Oilfield H100 platform.
Set the record for the longest horizontal section in China - Changqing Oilfield Jing 51-29H1 well.
Third prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Xinjiang (X5 well in the Junggar Basin).
Second prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Hebei Province (Jia 59 well breakthrough).
Recognized among the Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances in the Petroleum Industry for breakthroughs in ultra-deep well drilling technology.
First prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by CNPC for BH-WEI technology (WEIGH System private labeled by CNPC Bohai Drilling Company as BHWEI).
